Isn't your argument essentially for a new unit. Instead of a Joule as the work done in applying a force of 1N over 1m. You are advocating for defining a let's say Rebel as the energy unit defined as the energy of a mass of 1kg moving at 1m/s. So 1 Joule = 2 Rebel. Sorry but under this argument wouldn't energy measured in Rebels be E = 2*m*c^2. Or am I missing something.
