Absolutely. What’s amazing is that this is such a basic quality of numbers and I know that I didn’t understand it till 8th grade. This is despite how many times they try to tell you about place. I know when I got it. In algebra we had the typical question, you have a two digit number. If you reverse the digits then the sum of these two numbers is ___ and their difference is ___. What are the two numbers.

The teacher said, “first I need to tell you how numbers work.” I joked that we’re is 8th grade we know how numbers work. I was wrong. I didn’t know how numbers worked.
